| One year in the cohorts of the World Trade Organisation, Vietnam
is progressing remarkably with an astounding estimated annual
gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 8.5 percent. Foreign
investors and local manufacturers are on full speed ahead to

to invest $1 billion in building a software center in the new
Thu Thiem urban area in Ho Chi Minh City. The center is expected
to house 100 IT companies from Taipei.

Japan 's Nidec Group plans to invest $1 billion in ten high
technology plants in the Saigon High Tech Park (SHTP) located
in Ho Chi Minh City (HCM) by 2010. Over the last decade, Nidec
Group invested nearly $100 million in factories in the Tan Thuan
Export Processing Zone.
